Parting Ways

29 Mar

A coworker mentioned this artist last week and suggested I check out this song. I must say the lyrics do resonate with me after being completely cut off by former loves. I understand that distance is essential when ending a relationship and beginning the healing and detachment process. But to just act as though the person and what you shared never existed is extreme. Dah well, nothing to do but keep it moving on your end — onward to better!

I understand your view from the logical standpoint but when love is injected into a situation. There is no room for logic when someone is hurt. I’ve been on the side where she called it quits and once that occurs, it’s all about self preservation.

I erased the memory and act like we never met. If the parting of ways wasn’t mutual, what beneficial reason exist for the person rejected to maintain a relationship that has been downgraded?

Perhaps a bit a stretched analogy but if the business owner kicks an individual out of their restaurant, why would the patron continue to support that business?

I understand your point, but I still feels it’s harsh. And I get being in self-preservation mode for awhile but forever?
